I love a good Christmas cocktail and the theme of this drink is 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas'. The Grinch is a classic holiday movie. If you have never seen it, I believe you've been living under a rock for the past 20 years. To break it down, the Grinch is a grouch who has a sour attitude and a heart that's two sizes too small. The Grinch is a "who-hating" person, who has a knack for ruining things.
This Grinch cocktail aligns perfectly with the Grinch characteristics. Sour attitude = the Midori and lemon juice. His heart being two sizes too small = the maraschino cherry in the bottom of the martini glass. These are too cute and easy to make. They would have been the perfect holiday party drink for Christmas this year...if only we could gather and party. Sigh. But we cant because of Covid-19 pandemic. So I guess we'll have to settle for having cocktails at home.
How to make The Grinch Cocktail
This concoction is very simple to make. It only requires four ingredients and four steps. You should be able to whip this up in just five minutes! First, the four ingredients you will need are:
- Midori Liqueur
- Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- Simple syrup
- Maraschino cherries
So to start you will put 5 to 6 ice cubes to a cocktail shaker. Pour in the Midori, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Shake the mixture then strain pour into your martini glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry. An optional step is to rim the glass with lemon juice and dip into sugar. I think the sugar pairs nicely with how sweet the Midori and lemon juice are. But you can skip that step if you want.
